Huge congratulations to the brilliant Frances McDormand on winning the Best Actress award at this year’s Oscars ceremony.
She plays the determined Mildred Hayes in the fabulous and multi award winning film 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' – a mother grieving for her murdered daughter and desperate for justice. Mildred spends the whole film wearing overalls and even wears them on a date to a local restaurant.
"Frances came up with Mildred wearing the same jumpsuit every day as a kind of 'war uniform,' and I thought it was a great cinematic idea," recalls Martin McDonagh, the film’s director. "I liked the idea that Mildred doesn't have time to think about what she's wearing; she's at war."
If you’re keen to channel the Mildred look then our navy blue lightweight overalls could be the closest thing to her hard working and practical look. We can’t, however, guarantee you’ll win an Oscar wearing them.
